Another Day...(just sayin' hey)!

Good evening all, Pat here with a what's up, update. Well, actually, nothing much. Toni is working a little late, so Chris and I got a Papa Murphy's Pizza, and we'll watch a movie later tonight.

Remember my post about fan made movies, well here is another by the same guy, only this time it's been made to look like a movie trailer. It's for a mythical Superman/Batman movie. Enjoy~

Hey guys Pat here with a fan-film favorite of mine. I am a huge fan, of internet films. These are homemade movies, that are done so well, that, well you just have to see it for yourselfs how good some of these movies are. Here is one of my favorites!

Ah Snap!

Hey there everybody, are ya' ready for an update? Well alright, let's get the ball rolling. Let's see, (hmm???) Well, for a start, I've been workin' my tooker's off!

That about covers's it. Talked with Bob. Talked with my mom and dad!

Yeah! That's about it! I hope Chris and I get a chance to do something together soon! (Maybe a movie, or a shopping jaunt, with some lunch added!) And don't get me started on my lil' Toni!

Latest Buffy News (NOT GOOD!)

Hi readers, Pat here, and I'm mad! The latest Buffy Movie News has come out and it is not good news. It seems the producers of the original movie are mounting an effort to re-boot the Buffy series Ala Star Trek!

I have every desire to see a new Buffy film, and none to see the above mentioned mess! Give me Joss Whedon's Buffy any day! Now don't get me wrong, I did like the Buffy film. But the real staying power, and the reason I am a Buffy fan today was the magical realm that Joss created with Sarah Michelle Geller! UGH! Hollywood! Stop wrecking my icons for crying out loud!

Garden Update!

Hi guys and gals, Pat here with a garden update. Worked outside with Toni until my hey fever said "uncle"! Then we went for a bike ride!

I think the yard is coming around? What do you think?

Nice Day Off!

Hi readers, Pat here, having my morning coffee and waiting for Toni to get back from chapel! Every Monday, Toni volunteer's an hour of prayer down at the chapel. I know she prays for a lot of people and their "needs", and I myself, have often been the recipient of those prayers.

I'm going to help Toni around the garden when she gets back; and we'll probably cook out tonight. Just a nice day off.

Did I mention my Buffy fest has ended? I finished the grand finale last week Sunday; so for a while they'll be no more Buffy post. (But here's a clip from a failed cartoon pilot for a proposed Buffy Animated series.) Too Bad. It could have been neat!

I love the TV series "Flight of the Conchords" on HBO! The show follows two would-be musician's Brett and Jermaine as they assimilate to America, and try to make it in the music business!

Their manager, Murray, who often tries to guide them is as inept as they are and episode after episode, one is treated to their outrageous songs! It's all very funny! Here is a clip from them in concert! Watch!

Feelin' Fine, but gettin' Old!

Hey groovy guys and gals, Pat here with a health up-date. I'm clean-for the time being! Got a late call from Toni telling me my test from my resent MRI came out fine. NO CANCER!

But it did show a cyst on my left kidney. So they will be watching it. (The doctor said, it is a sign of getting older); lots of folks develop cyst's on their organs in later years! (*Sigh!*) Guess you know where this is going!

It's heck to get old! I still feel like a kid; and darn it! (I always will!)

So stop treating me like I'm elderly already! (Unless of course it'll save me some bucks; and then YES, I'll show you my AARP card!)

Driving Back and Forth to Work!

Hi mighty six reader's...Pat here with a Thursday update! I've been working plenty, again this week. Driving back and forth between home and the newspaper in Kalamazoo! (It's about 30 minuets each way!)

I've found a pleasant way to pass the time while I drive, listening to old radio shows. Last year at Comic Con, I bought some disc's with the Bickersons and The Shadow! They are so much fun to listen to!

Dr. Who, what? Where??

Hey friends...ah, that's better. I have been re-united with my collection of Doctor Who DVD's at last. Last week, Friday, Chris came home from college in Chicago, and lo and behold; there packed with a ton of other stuff, was my three-ringed binder, stuffed with Doctor Who!

The BBC series premiered in 1963, two days after President Kennedy was shot. It remained on the air until 1993. Four years ago, the BBC brought the Doctor out of retirement, and its been gravy ever since!

I love all of the actors, who have portrayed the Doctor, over the years. Here is a picture of Tom Baker, my all time favorite!

UP! (I'm up for that!)

Hey there my fine four readers, Pat here with a word about UP!

There is a new Disney Pixar movie coming out at the end of the month, and it looks fantastic. (I saw the trailer for it with Toni, Chris, Bob, Krista and Autin, last Saturday night.) What fun!

Pixar has had an amazing run of quality movies, and this one looks poised to continue that tradition. I love the look of the animation, and want to see the movie in 3-D! So here is a suggestion, last weekend in May, take someone you love by the hand, and go see UP! You'll be glad you did!

Buffy, my Pal!

Hi all, Pat here with a Comic Con update. Here's a few pictures from the convention. My favorite, is one of me, meeting my favorite vampire killer, Buffy. (Also known as Kristy Swanson!)

Kristy was the original vampire slayer before Sarah Michelle Gellar took over for the TV series.

The Other's are Bob visiting with R2-D2; and Bob and Austin, getting ready to chow down at Red Robin's.

Detroit Comic Con this weekend!

Hi folk's, Pat here with a weekend roundup! This weekend is the traditional Detroit Comic Convention. As such, me and my best bud, Bob, will be attending. For those who know not what Detroit Comic Con is, let me tell you.

Comic con as it is commonly known, is a comic book/ sports memorabilia/ Pop culture convention. There is lots to see and do. You can shop 20 aisles of vendors selling trivial trinkets like old toys/ DVDs/ comic books/ old magazines/ t-shirts...etc.

There are also movies, cartoons, and old TV and film stars signing autographs! Bob and I have been attending for several years. Its an excuse to buy junk, and then afterwards enjoy beer and pizza into the thin hours before dawn.

I love Comic Con weekend! ;)

I Miss my Favorite Red-Head!

Hi-folks, Pat here. I'm missing my favorite red-head. NO! NOT Archie!!

I'm talkin' Toni! I've been working the last 8 days in a row now, and that means no face time, (or otherwise), with that cute little red haired girl, that I love so much!

So I pass the time, watching a few Buffy episodes, and call her nightly on my break! The good news is...tonight is my last night of work for four days! Yeah!!!

Meanwhile, here is another famous red-head I drew a while back!

Lil' China Blog!

Hi friendly readers...Pat here. I've been workin' a lot at the newspaper lately. I've made a good friend, with one of my colleague's, Dan Gallagher.
Last night, I brought in my photo album of my last China trip, because Dan wanted to see it.

Which also gave me the opportunity to share this Mulan sketch I did.
Had my test results from the doctor. Have to go back for more test.
Kind'a stressed out about that. The doctor says, it's probably nothing.
But...yeah, I'm stressed!

Why hello there Internet people! I've been working at the newspaper like a crazy man, and I've been so busy, (aside from Buffy-Fest Season Seven), that I haven't had the time to post lately!

Have I ever mentioned the fact, that I also draw a little? Here is a Disney doodle that I did a while ago. It kinda displays the same emotional range I've had the last couple o' days.

Right about now...I could use a Disney break!

Bob and his Books on Audio

Hi everyone, Pat here with a late-night post. I usually spend my Wednesday mornings, chatting with Bob. In case you didn't know it, Bob has been my best friend since jr. high school. Every week; since I moved from Wisconsin, to Michigan, Bob and I talk for 2-3 hours each Wednesday. Catching up on sports, movies, books. You name it; Bob and I have probably talked at length about it, one time or another.

Right Now, Bob is mid-way through the 6th book of the Harry Potter series; a series we have both read many times over. Here is a water color I did. It's not original, its a copy of one of the book jackets, but I loved the cover, and wanted to have a picture of it! I can't wait til' the next movie comes out, and neither can Bob!

The Home Front.

Good morning readers, just sitting down to a cup of coffee. Had a nice day yesterday with Toni. Went to church early, then went to breakfast with our friends Wynn and Gene, and their lovely daughters Rayna and Madison.

Afterward, Toni and I set out working on the yard. Cleaning debris, cutting back old-growth, cutting the grass, trimming, sprucing, the works...

Toni loves to work in the flower beds. She is so happy, digging in the dirt. I like to she her, getting so excited about spring! Here's an old picture from last year to show you the ol' house.

Hunt For Gollum Day!

Hi all...Pat here. I am a big, big fan of Fan-Films! I discovered a while ago, that there are groups of people, who gather together, for the purpose of making amateur movies. It is amazing, how well made, some of these productions are. What's more amazing, they are made at a fraction of the cost of a Hollywood film!

Today, I am eagerly awaiting the release, of "The Hunt For Gollum", a short movie; about 45 minuets long, that will be available for free download. In their honor, I post another of my "Lord of the Rings", watercolors!

I'll post more on the fan films in general, and my review of "Gollum" in particular later! :)

Buffy Fest '09 Continues

Hi guys and gals...Pat here with an update on Buffy Fest. As my four readers know from reading recent blogs, I've been watching volumes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVDs. And because I couldn't do anything else yesterday, I decided, since I was bed ridden with the flu, to squeeze in 5 episodes in a row. (I do think I'm Buffy'd out now, for the present.)

Here is a watercolor I did of our favorite slayer, and her main man Angel!
