A Tale of Two Pictures

Hi faithful readers. Some of you might know, for a while I had a photo restoration business. alas~ it is not in business anymore. But I occasionally still repair old photos for friends and family.

Case in point, the picture accompanying this blog entry. Recently, my friend Dianne's father passed away, and she gave to me this photo of her father, from the 40's, when he was in the Marines!

She asked, if I would try and fix it.

Well? What do you think?

Toy Story 3

I have been a naughty blooger of late. No new post! I have been way busy. So busy that I didn't even get the chance to see the New Toy Story until this weekend!
Go see it! Its wonderful.

New Narnia movie

I am a huge fan of the Narnia movie series. I think they are some of the best made "family movies", made today! I was way sorry to see Disney drop the franchise, and I believe they were a little Hasty; to do so.

The 1st film of the series, came out at Christmas time, and did Boffo Box office! The second, however, was crammed into a tight summer schedule that place it between the first Iron Man movie, and a little film you might have heard of, Indiana Jones! (Hmmmn? I wonder why the receipts were off a little?) Anyway, the new film, comes out at, (Gasp!), Christmas time! I bet they make a LOT of money on the next one!

Missed it by that much!

Hi friends, Pat here with a movie update! Tonight, Toni and I we're going to attend the "sneak preview" of "TOY STORY 3"!

Alas! It was not meant to be.

We sat in our Gazebo at 6:30, where Toni informed me the movie was to start at 7:30 at the West Columbia Theatre. Well, we left at 7:00...only to learn that the movie, had already begun, (and no one would be seated, after the show started!) What's a fellow to do?

Don Adams of "Maxwell Smart" fame said it best; "Missed it, by that much"!

Dish-washer blues!

Boom! And so went our dishwasher!

Toni and I are in the process of buying a new dish-washer to replace it. No one services this stuff anymore. You are forced to buy a new unit! I've also discovered, that short of paying a fortune, no one installs or takes out the old unit. There is like a hundred fee's for getting appliances serviced. (One for delivery, another if they actually enter the home.) Installation fee. Extra, if they have to supply the hoses to connect it; old model removal, and let us not forget the "Extended Warranty service"!

Oh, note to Best Rip-off. if a product has a one year warranty, and you tack on two more; you've just sold a two year warranty, not three!

How does your garden grow?

Well, lets see how the yard looks so far this year? Toni and I, have been tending to the flowers, transplanting some Hostas, and trimming back some, and I dare say, its looking pretty good!
Here is the front of our house.
And here is the back! Let me know what you think?

BP Parody...oh come-on, you have to laugh!

Hi all, Pat here with a little comedy, to lighten up the mood! I saw this yesterday and knew I'd be posting it here. It's what happens when someone spills coffee at BP headquarters!

Ah, Friday! But next week, not so much!

Friday, Toni and I went to Chicago, with our good friends Wynne and Gene. (Gene had to renew his passport at the Dutch Embassy!) Then, we hooked up with Chris, went shopping along Michigan Ave. Had lunch at Harry Carrey's. (Holy Cow!)

We walked along Navy Pier, went on the Ferris Wheel, and had a lovely time. What a lovely day!

Monday, Toni hits the road. This time, she travels to Grand Rapids for a four day training program. Aye-yi-yi-ya! Then the following week, shes gone to California for 4 days!

Its getting so I have to look at my milk carton, to remember what she looks like!

New football hero

Hey there. Wow! Two posts today! I love to post good stories on my blog, and this one touched me. I found a new football hero today. Watch and see why!

Captain America Movie!

I am a big fan of comics, and long-time friends know I'm a nut about
comic book characters! It behooves me to tell you-I am excited about the new Captain America movie!

For years Marvel movies weren't such a big deal! Bad production values; major changes to concept and character, bad story lines, made for extremely bad movies!

Iron Man and Iron Man 2 rocked the house! I have high hopes for Cap! ;)
