A little sunshine!

Oh my poor blog. I haven't posted lately, because I was on vacation in Arizona. (Hence, the little sunshine!) Here are a couple of pictures from our trip. Both were taken, when we visited Sedona. Sedona is a beautiful, (and I do mean beautiful area), two hours north of Phoenix.

It has been used frequently by Hollywood, for western films, but has gone out of style, in resent years. The first is a picture of me and Toni. (Always picture perfect).

The second, is of me, (Patrick), Christopher, and his gal/pal, Jessica! We had a great trip!

Special thanks go out to Birdie & John/ Cindy & Jack/ and J.T. and Brittany! Thanks for a great vacation stay!

Another (GOOD NEWS) Tale

Maybe you've already heard this tale. Last Saturday a couple in Port Richards near Philadelphia, started a chain-reaction of kindness, that went on and on, for hours. When the couple left, they ask to pay the bill of the table next to theirs. (They did not know the group.) The other table was told this, after the couple left saying, "Merry Christmas, your tab has been paid".

They then did this for the table next to theirs. And on, and on it went. With no thought, that the next table might have cost more then their own meal.

The waitress' at the Dinner, had never seen this before, and were moved to tears by the generosity of one stranger to the next. Have you seen the movie Pay It Forward? Its message is alive and well.

Fan of the Packers (UPDATE)

Had a quiet weekend at home. I was all excited because the Packers were going to play the Bears, and The Lions were going to play the Ravens. Now the usual rule is, NFC teams are broadcast on Fox, and AFC teams are broadcast on CBS. So what happened? They decided to show the Detroit Lions melt-down on Fox, so no Packers-Bears game! *sigh!*

Last night Chris and I did watch a very fun Eagles-Giants game. (Oh and I got to watch a very impotent Dallas loss, too!) I am starting to think Tony Romo hasn't got what it takes to lead the Cowboys! Toni says, "he's definitely on his way out!"

Who's Up for the holidays?

Good morning readers. I am so excited. I love the movie "UP"! I think it was the best film of the year from Hollywood. It told an amazingly good tale of love, devotion and friendship. Those Pixar folks really could teach a thing or two, to other film makers.
I gave several copies to some family members for Christmas!
(Sssssush! It's a secret!) I hope they like it as much as Toni and I did.
Here's the part I really like, I've no where to go, nothing to do, and so I am about to watch the Blu-ray disc. Yep! I'm up for "UP"!

There is a Santa

Hi readers, Pat here with a Christmas update. For many years, Chris, Toni and I have a tradition of going out and buying a bunch of new toys for "Toys for Tots". This year, they are really hurting because the donations are way down as one would expect!
I know you'll never see the faces of the kids who receive these gifts; but know in your heart, you've done good!
And for someone out there, "you really are Santa Claus!" ;)

Thinking of yesterdays

Pat here with a jungle update. Back when I was a kid, (which was probably a million years ago), I started watching the Tarzan flicks on Saturday afternoons on WTMJ Channel 4, Milwaukee. Each week, they'd show another installment.
I loved them all, when I was young, and when I got older, I read the original Edgar Rice Burroughs tales. even though they are very different in tone, each still holds a special place in my (still young at heart), heart!
I have the original MGM series on DVD, and plan on watching them all.
Probably get started, after I am laid off from the Newspaper, which it looks like will happen pretty soon. Too bad. I love printing, and it reminded me of when I worked at Quad Graphics. Sadly, times are changing.

You go Susan!

Susan Boyle's debut CD went on sale this week, and sold almost a million Cd's! She is, you may remember, the singing sensation from Scotland; who set the Internet afire with her rendition of "I have a Dream". I got choked up when I saw that amazing performance, and I still get chills, when I think, how Susan is now living her dream!

Donald Trump said it best; "since your going to dream anyway, dream BIG"!
