Good to go!

Hi to my nine faithful readers! Pat here, with a health up-date. My test results are back for my semi-annual check-up! The doctor has given me the all-clear sign. I am good to go for another 6 months. Keep up on the praying department, as it seems to be paying me dividends!

I have a lot to be thankful for. This is a good reminder, of how lucky I am! ;)

A word about my best friend!

Have I every told you about my Toni? She is an incredible woman with many accomplishments; so many in fact, that I don't want to go into all the details. She is the most kind, warm and considerate person you could meet. (and that's if your a total stranger)!
She goes out of her way, way too often to mention, and I love her dearly, it wouldn't be right, if I didn't praise this amazingly special love of mine.
(And NO, we didn't have a fight. I just wanted to share my feelings for the woman I have been so lucky to call my wife, for many loving years.)
I know its mushy; its all true! This picture was taken, by the lover tree's in the Forbidden City, in Beijing!

Final thoughts...

I wanted to post a final thought on China. While I was there, I couldn't post my blog. The Chinese block things like FaceBook, Twitter, etc... because they are afraid that it will be used to spread dissent. That one simple act, made me even more appreciative of America.

Sure things aren't perfect. That's the point. We have to work at making things better, and one of the ways we do that is by "expressing our selves" via the Internet.

Sing! (Sing a song!)

While I was away a number of things happened right here at home. One of them was Sesame Street turned 40! I used to watch it a bit when my youngest brother Matt was small. Years later, I watched often with my son Chris. "Maybe some day I'll watch with some youngsters again", Who knows?

By the way watch the little girl at the end, she's adoreable! Now that's worth singing about.

I'm Lovin' it! (Not so much!)

Every now and then, I get into a cycle of DVD watching. Right now, I'm into old Jonny Quest episodes. Some of my best childhood memories was watching JQ on Thursday nights on ABC network TV.
Here's a slightly old watercolor I did of JQ, I got them down pretty well. I do better copying old stuff, because I've re-drawn them a million times! Nothing new on the home front. Been working hard and missing Toni and Chris. I like the newspaper, (but), not the late 2nd-3rd shift hours. 7:00 pm til 3:00 am.

Who's Hungry?

I wasn't going to publish too many photos from China, but I couldn't resist putting this one up. Click on the photo to get a close up of this Chinese delicacy. "YUM"!
Scorpions on a stick. (Oh and they were alive and moving), when they got deep fried!

Beth Neilsen Chapman Rocks!

Toni and I just got back from a Beth Neilsen Chapman concert. She has appeared in Battle Creek 5 times. Toni has seen her perform four, and I have seen her three times. She's an amazing performer. Her songs are wonderful. Here's a great sample of her work!

Kodak moment

Here's another picture from my resent China trip! Toni and I visiting the "Forbidden City" in Beijing!

It was another amazing day, exploring China. But, It's even better to be home in the good ol' U.S.A. ("Now somebody run out and get me a decent cheese burger")!

One moment...

I know after the movie "Bucket List", it has become something of a cliche; but on Monday afternoon I crossed one of my dream "to-do" list items off as finished!
I even took a crumbled bit of stone home with me to put on my mantle.
The Great Wall of China. "Yes! I've been there; done that"!
