And I didn't even Know She Was Running!

Hi all. Patrick here with a Toni update. Toni is currently traveling on a 6-day business trip. She's currently in Washington D.C., attending a Safety Seminar on new Regulations regarding Child Safety Laws and mandates.

I got an e-mail from her, opened the picture she sent me, and Voila!

(And I didn't even know she was running!) She sure is cute behind the podium!

Just cleaning house!

Well it's Day 2 without my Toni! (*sigh!) Took a break in my house cleaning Friday chores to post. I'll have a visitor later today. Christopher is coming in for a weekend visit. He has a request in; to watch "Rear Window", with Jimmy Stewart!

Maybe a pizza is in order? Otherwise, I'm OK. Just cleaning house.

Need another "Good News" story...

I read this story today and thought I'd share it with my readers. Recently...Josh Ripley, a high school student at Andover High (Minnesota), stopped in the middle of a Cross-country meet, to help a competing athlete in trouble. At about the one mile point, in a two mile run, Josh heard a scream, and turned to see a fellow runner down, clutching his ankle. It was bleeding profusely. He went to the distressed runner, picked him up, then ran back to the starting point carrying the hurt runner. (He had been stepped on by a fellow runner in spikes, and required 20 stitches to close the wound.)

Andover High Coach Scott Clark, was surprised to see Josh return to the starting point carrying Park Pauauskas. He was then astounded to see Josh turn, and start the entire 2 mile course over! Yes he finished! Its what hero's do!

Alone again...*sigh

Toni leaves today for two business trips. First, she'll be visiting Little Brownie Baking Company in Kentucky. I think she is staying the weekend to visit with her sister Mary! (Hope they enjoy a nice visit!)

Then Sunday night, she flies to Washington, D.C., for a mini conference on changes to the changes made on current safety regulations related to kids toys!

And with that, Its just lonely old me, in Battle Creek! (*sigh!)
But hey, the good news is, I just received my Blu-ray Set of the Star Wars Saga. I'll be guilt free-watching the movies all weekend long!

Another Movie Trailer!

It's Saturday! So What else? Why of course! Another movie trailer! How cool is that?

Need a Zombie fix?

OK! What's with all the zombies lately? There everywhere. Now, even I have to admit to having watched the first season of AMC's TV show, The Walking Dead. Truth be told, I liked it, even though I don't like the gore factor that most of these shows go in for. Now however, I have found a zombie story that I can give a Big thumb's up!

"The Goon", a comic series created by Eric Powell tells the story, of Franky and his pal, the Goon! Its being talked about as a animated film, that captures the humor, (black humor), and comic design of the original series. Lets watch this small test clip, with the vocal talent of Paul Giamatti as Franky, and Clancy Brown as "The Goon"!

Letter to my congressmen!

I wrote to my local congressmen today! This is my letter to him: Dear Congressmen Walberg. I have been laid off from the Kalamazoo Gazette for over one year. The publisher's decided to end my job to go to a cheaper labor force in Grand Rapids. Our paper was printer of the year for 3 of the last 4 years in North America. QUALITY was not the issue! Cheaper labor WAS! We need jobs and a level playing field to compete for them. I am sick and tired of seeing ad's in our local papers advertising for only currently employed people need apply! Pass President Obama's Jobs Bill! My vote depends on my ability to find a job! I already saw a dip in my 401K when the congress fumbled the deficient issue. Republicans must act now! (Or start looking for another job!)

Back from Milwaukee!

Hi faithful readers...I am back from my all too brief visit to Milwaukee. Had a nice weekend visiting my mom and dad, Tim and Julia, Brian and Ellen, and a game of D&D with my best buddies. The highlight, was seeing my sister-in-law, Birdie. She came to town to renew the batteries, and I hope we were the spark, she needed to receive. Toni and I miss her already!

Avenger's Movie Update!

I couldn't sleep last night, and what else does one do when that happens? Why they search the Internet for movie news. And then of course, they publish their findings in an essay with words and pictures.

Long time readers know I am a huge fan of comic characters being turned into action films; so it should come as no surprise that I eagerly await next summer's highly anticipated Avengers movie. The Avengers, are a group of Marvel Superheroes who come together in times of great crisis. Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye, and the Black Widow. A true feast for the comic nerd! Right now, filming of the Joss Whedon film is taking place in New York, and here are a few pictures. Can't wait!

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't posted a lot lately! I had a issues to take care of. Family comes first. But I'm back, and how better then to celebrate one of my all-time favorite shows, "Jonny Quest"!
I recently discovered this fan-made recreation of the original shows opening, using stop motion animation. It's beautiful to watch, and trust me, this was a labor of love. If you like to see how he did it, click this link:rogerevans.tv/jq_page2.html Otherwise, Let's watch!
