I read this story today and thought I'd share it with my readers. Recently...
Josh Ripley, a high school student at
Andover High (Minnesota), stopped in the middle of a Cross-country meet, to help a competing athlete in trouble. At about the one mile point, in a two mile run,
Josh heard a scream, and turned to see a fellow runner down, clutching his ankle. It was bleeding profusely. He went to the distressed runner, picked him up, then ran back to the starting point carrying the hurt runner.
(He had been stepped on by a fellow runner in spikes, and required 20 stitches to close the wound.)
Andover High Coach Scott Clark, was surprised to see
Josh return to the starting point carrying
Park Pauauskas. He was then astounded to see
Josh turn, and start the entire 2 mile course over! Yes he finished! Its what hero's do!
