Richard Sharpe Series!

Good day to all my readers. This weekend I was borrowed a series of movies starring Sean Bean as "Richard Sharpe". It is a British TV series of movies about an fictional officer in Wellington's Army during the Napoleonic Wars.

What a great series. Anyone who likes historic battle films would enjoy this action-film series.

I want to thank my friend Jon, for turning me on to this saga. Way Cool!~

Music I'm currently listening too, "I've Found a New Baby!" by Django Reinhardt!

Favorite Comics Part One

Good morning. My close friends know I love comics. Comic books, comic strips, COMICS!

I don't buy any comics these days, but I still follow via the Internet, whats happening in the world of comics. My main attention now; is comic strips. Two of my favorites that are currently being printed are "Mutts", and "Get Fuzzy".

The first is a gentle comic strip, that often has engagingly cute, sentimental story's; but can still deliver the funny, laugh out loud moment.

The second, "Get Fuzzy", is an in your face humour that often has me re-reading it aloud to Toni, and laughing even harder, the second time around.

"I LOVE COMICS!" ;)

Just posting!

Well, another Saturday of beer. I keep getting scheduled for Saturdays and I don't like working them! (Ugh!)

I know, I know, I'm happy to have a job in this climate of layoffs, but ya' think just once in a while...Speaking of jobs, here is one that's related to Toni's Job. Happy Saturday;)

LotR's Part Two

Well, another Wednesday without talking to Bob! (Blaah!) What's up with that? Work has been nutty. I've been scheduled weird hours, and lots of them to boot. Hence, no time to call and chat with the Bob-ster, on Wednesday!

And there is so much to talk about; the up-coming Star Trek movie, the Dollhouse TV show, Battlestar Galactica's awesome ending! (When O' lord, when can I talk to Bob?)

Anywho...here's another olive branch. It's another watercolor of Lord of the Rings! (LotR's)

Later....Pat

OK, I'm not the Star Trek Nut...

OK, I'm not the Star Trek Nut I thought I was! And shame on my three readers for not noticing!
Yesterday, I miss-spelled William Shatner's name as William Shanter! (My Bad!)

I already changed the error. I guess I should be more diligent about these things. I promise, I'll try and do better! My three registered readers, Matt, John and Rose, you guys are on notice to watch my back from here on out, so I catch these things sooner! OK? OK! (Gosh I hate to put so much preasure on you guys!) On a lighter note: Toni comes home late tonight! Yeah!
I miss my best pal when she gone for even one day!

It--is-imperative, to...talk with, halting, manner! Overly emphasise each-dramatic, pause! Then talk rapidly as if your life, depended upon it.

Raining Outside, Sunny Inside!

Happy Saturday! I was supposed to work today, but Dave my boss, called yesterday and ask if I'd work Sunday instead. So, at least I have a day with Toni, before she leaves for Kentucky!

She'll be back late Monday night, so its not a big deal!

Chris is back this weekend, for a week long spring break visit. I enjoy his visits. I miss him very much when he's at school; but I am very proud of his achievements! He has done amazing things at Columbia College in Chicago. WAY TO GO CHRIS!

Its raining right now, very grey and dreary. But its sunny inside today! Have a great weekend everybody!;)

Here's to Bob!

Hey there to my readers; have I told you about my best Buddie Bob? Bob is my oldest and best friend in the world! We've been buddies since Jr. high! Well, Bob is one of the biggest Lord of the Rings fans, and its all because of me! (Well, if you want to get technical; I suppose Peter Jackson, had something to do with it!)

Once upon a time, another friend of mine, Doug, and myself, we're talking enthusiastically about this new movie coming out. The Lord of the Rings. Bob said he didn't understand our passion for the subject, and dismissed it. Later that year; the first film came out, and it was then, that Bob was hooked! Anyway, I often chat with Bob on Tuesday or Wednesday, but because of work, this didn't happen this week. So here is an olive branch to Bob. It's a picture of Arwen from the movie; Lord of the Rings, part; whatever! Enjoy;)

What's Up??

Well, I just got back from work, and thought I'd update my three readers with what's happening! Here is one of my latest water colors; It's Adam West as Batman!
I always liked the TV show, and loved the early episodes before they got too silly!
Not much else happening. Toni's working hard, and has a trip coming up soon for work. (Sigh!)
Oh well, lots to do around the house.

Car Trouble!

Yesterday, Chris and I went to BestBuy to get Chris a delayed Birthday present. Resident Evil 5 video game! ("It's way cool, pops"; or so I've been told!) Anyway, I get to 6 1/2 Mile road, and the dashboard goes screwy! Everything shuts off. By the time I pull into the driveway, the car dies.
The car won't start. and acts like the battery is dead. One problem though, the battery is a month old!

So I think my alternator is dead. Good thing I'm off today!

Tip O' the Hat

I don't want to shock my three readers by posting twice in one day--but; yes it's true. Twice the Patrick in one sitting. Here is a picture of me posing in my new hat. I love this style, and I've worn them since high school. (I know, what a geek!)

Anyway, things are good in Michigan. ~enjoy the weekend!;)

Music I'm currently listening too; "Morning Morgantown" by Joni Mitchell.

Post for Saturday!

Having some coffee and trying to wake up before I'm off to work. Not too much going on this weekend, except Chris is home. We had Papa Murphy's Pizza and talked.

Tonight, we'll all go to the movies and see "The Watchmen".
Here is a quick picture I did of Monsters, Inc.

My Boy!

Chris is coming home for a visit this weekend! I know Toni, and I, are both excited! (We miss him dearly!) I am sure we'll both spoil him rotten. Going out to eat, movies, junk food, soda beer! (When did I start buying him beer?)

And we'll talk. About college. About the women. About life. But most of all; we will get re-acquainted with our son. ~Joy

Music I'm listening to; "Golden Spa Tones" (Tibetan Singing Bowls with Flutes & Ocean) by Dean Evenson and Walter Makichen!

Dr. Horrible DVD

Big Hello to my "Three" readers! Yikes!

I just got a DVD of Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog! What a hoot! It stars Neil Patrick Harris and Nathon Fillion. And just as the title suggests; you'll want to join in with the singing. The film was the creation of Joss Whedon, the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Whom I greatly admire.

The story tells the tale of would-be, mad scientist Dr. Horrible and his arch nemesis, Captain Hammer. When Dr. H, tries to join the Evil League of Evil, well, lets just say; all does not go as planned. And of course, along the way, there is some mighty fine songs being performed! I love it. Great stuff!

Where am I?

Got home from work a little while ago and realized; "Oh my gosh, I have written in days! My two readers must be going nuts!"

Well never fear, I have returned! (Not that I had a lot to talk about, but that never stopped me from posting a letter from beautiful Battle Creek!) Just working at the beer sales-not too mush else to report! Tomorrow, I have to go talk to the local township board to protest my property taxes for this year! According to them, my house price went up 4% last year. (Yeah, right!)

D & D (again)

Did I ever tell my two readers about D&D? I have a group of friends who have been playing Dungeons and Dragons for 24 years together! I'll have too tell you about my group someday soon. In the meanwhile; I'll leave you with a picture I did awhile back. (Sorry, its not d&d), but it is sorta' connected! Its David Bowie from the film Labyrinth!

Note to group: Hey Bob, Doug, Rose, Andy, Krista, Austin...we're on our way!

My close friends and family know that I am a comics freak. My first love, (besides Mickey Mouse), was Batman and Superman.
When I was little, I'd spend hours, even days, drawing my own comics, making paper doll superheroes. And I always pushed myself to draw just like the comic guys.
This is a resent picture I did. It is a copy of a series published by DC Comics drawn by Darwyn Cooke. It just goes to show you, I'm "still" copying the comic guys!
Current music I'm listening to; "The Unicorn" by The Irish Rovers!

Too cold to say goodbye!

Not too much to write about today. I talked to Chris last night. He's doing well. He was a little bummed, because one of his really good friends at college, has opted out, and is returning to Salt Lake City.

I know its hard to say goodbye to friends who are close, (and God knows, how lucky I am to still be connected to mine). But I can't help but think, how different people are sent to us in our lives, and each has a specific need or gift.

I hope the weather gets warm soon. Florida was more of a tease. I want to get out and about.
I'm looking forward to a quick visit with my friends and family in Wisconsin this weekend. I know that will warm me! ;)

Secret (Revealed)

A while back, I told you about a top-secret project I'm working on. A friend asked me to make a special mail-box that had a Dungeon & Dragons theme. I've been toiling away.

It's like trying to paint a lunch box. Here is a view in progress. The actual job is done. I am in the process of sealing it with many coats of a polyurethane sealer.

Here is a picture of the box!

Music I'm currently listening too, Enya-"Carribean Blue".
