China Visit Part Two

Toni's sister Bernadette went with us on our trip to China. She was a great companion to travel with. She loved Hong Kong, Loved Macau. Loved China. She had a great time exploring and usually liked what she discovered...except the food.

She did OK on some things, didn't care for a few, and hated a couple of items. (Chicken-feet soup, anyone?) And the one she had the most trouble with? Chinese candy. Take a look.

China Visit Part One

Hello. Yes, Toni and I are back from China and each day this week, I will share some of our adventures with you. Up first, a visit to a Chinese Orphanage.

I had the pleasure of going with Toni's global team to a orphanage in Guongdong, China. We came bearing gifts to distribute, and got a chance to play with the children. China's orphanages still are burdened with many kids with special needs.

Most of these kids are special cases. Rare disorders, mental retardation or birth defects. So yes, tears were shed. But most of all, smiles, and love.

Sorry for the silence

Hi folks. Sorry for the silence. Toni and I have been busy traveling around lately. Florida, Phoenix and now Hong Kong. I promise I'll be back writing more often, but in the meantime...check out some of my older posts. It's fun to re-read them. Talk at ya' soon......Pat

Arizona

Here are a few of the pictures we took on our recent trip to Arizona. We took a long hike in the desert, went to a couple of Brewer baseball games, and had a great time with most of Toni's family!
The weather was mixed. Early in the week, it was colder in Phoenix, then it was in Wisconsin!

But it soon climbed back into the 80's, so all's well, that ends well.

I had such a great vacation down in Florida this year, and I just wanted to say thank you, the wonderful woman I married, that made it all possible! Thank you Toni. You're the greatest!

NASA Visit

Good day gentle reader. Have I told you about my recent trip to NASA, in Florida? Well, during our trip to Florida in February, Toni and I went to the Kennedy Space Center. We got to visit the rocket garden, 2 Imax Theatre's which featured films on the international space station, and the history of the space shuttle. They had amazing exhibits. Many featured inter-active features to excite young visitors and encourage them to enter the field of science.

Alas, the average age of a visitor to the space center, was older then Toni and I. I guess kids today, don't even know the names or exploits of our famous astronauts, who risked everything while trying to pave the way to a better future. It's a shame we have no space program any more!

*Sigh*

Back from Florida

WOW! Its been a long time since I've written a new blog! I just got back from 10 days in Orlando Florida! Got to see and do lots of things. Had a wonderful time. Didn't get to do everything I wanted, didn't get to see everyone I wanted. But, overall, a heck of a vacation!
