Happy Weekend Everyone! I hope you have nice events planned! Tomorrow, I'll see Wynne and Gene at church, and I plan on giving them their "Pineapple"! Did you see the post about it? I included a picture. It turned out very nice, and after tomorrow, it will grace the entrance to Wynne and Gene's lake house.
Toni and I will observe Earth 60 tonight! It can't hurt? Right?
Music I'm currently listening to: Susan Boyle, "Wild Horses"!

Lady Ga Ga (sorta)
Hi gang. Do you know, I didn't know who Lady Ga Ga was until about a month ago? (Its true!)
Chris had asked me to make a DVD video of our Phoenix trip, using her song Poker Face, and I had to ask..."Who's Lady Ga Ga?"
Anyway...here is a Parody of her song Poker Face, and I think its a riot! (And a good impersonation of the real thing!)

Dentist visit
Hi there. Yes, two post's today, you lucky devil! (But you knew that already!) I had to go to the dentist today. Had a cavity worked on. Now, I'm not bragging, but I hadn't had a cavity in 15-20 years! (The last time I had to have one filled, I lived in Milwaukee!)
So I was kinda' amazed at how they go about doing it. Super glues, super-polymer's, set by ultra-violet lights. Yikes! It was truly an eye opener. But-the bottom line, I still don't want to go through that again!

A little Dance Music
I saw this posted on a friends FaceBook page. I had to post it here. Let the smiles begin. (Oh and nice 80's music, too!)

Happy "Talk like William Shatner Day"
OH-MY, God! Yes! Its March 22. Happy, "Talk-like, William Shatner day!"
Yes. March 22 is the Annual Talk like William Shatner Day; where we celebrate one of the funniest, character actors, to ever have a TV series. (Or several if you include his reality shows!) Go out and do your best, (or worst), William Shatner imitation. Speak in that strange-paced, halting, then speeding up delivery, that Shatner was so famous for!
What, are-you-waiting for? That's; an order Spock!

a simple wish
Someone I care for is very ill tonight. I am not a poet, so I cannot put into words, my prayers for her comfort and care. I am not a Saint, and I fear my prayers sound hollow and weak. I am not close, so my words are distant and small. But still I pray. Tonight, I ask my friends, pray with me.
Pray for Jill.
Think tonight of miracles, and peace. Think tonight, of rainbows and sunny days. Dream of perfect moments, and be thankful. Then pray, that they may all be bestowed upon Jill.
~Thank you!

Behold! The Pineapple
The first European to encounter a pineapple, was Christopher Columbus in November, 1493. Christopher was on his 2nd Voyage, and had anchored in a cove of Guadeloupe!
From the beginning, it was love at first taste. But for years afterward, it remained an expensive delicacy. In the 1700's, American colonist would feature it as a prime feature to any feast visited upon company.
It became a communal symbol of friendship and hospitality. A favorite motif of architects and artisans.
It now is displayed in my living room, but soon to be a part of Gene and Wynne's Lake house.

Nothing but housework
Hi readers...Pat here with a recap of my first week off. Nothing but house work! (But I must also report; Toni's very happy with that!) I have been fixing little nagging things around the house. Uber cleaning certain rooms and items. And getting to do some Spring cleaning chores.
Nothing on the job front to report. The Kalamazoo Gazette, is now being printed in Grand Rapids, with some graphics being done in Pennsylvania!
("So much for being a local newspaper"!)
